Our Philosophy
As a person of South Asian origin, some of my strongest childhood memories are tied to a simple dabba—a tiffin box filled with my mother’s freshly cooked food. Every morning, she packed it with care, and when I opened it at school, the food was still warm, fragrant, and full of flavour. It wasn’t just lunch; it was comfort, tradition, and my mother’s love wrapped into every bite.
When I moved to England, I left that feeling behind. I missed my mother deeply, and with her, I missed the taste of real home-cooked Indian food. I tried Indian restaurants and takeaways, hoping to relive those flavours, but nothing ever came close. The food filled my stomach, but it never filled my heart the way my mother’s cooking did.
Years later, when my children started school, I found myself standing in the same place my mother once stood—packing dabbas with love. Every day, they came home with empty lunch boxes and smiles on their faces. Soon, I began packing lunches for my husband and myself too. Those shared meals brought us closer, and when friends and colleagues tasted our food, they always said the same thing: it tastes different—fresher, richer, and made with love.
Today, my children are in secondary school, and I prepare five dabbas every single day for my family. Somewhere between cooking, packing, and sharing those meals, I realised something beautiful—this food brings comfort, warmth, and joy, just like my mother’s once did for me.
That is how this journey began. I decided to prepare more dabbas, so others could experience the same fresh, homemade food each week—food that carries tradition, flavour, and a little bit of love in every bite.
